By the end, literally nothing about his stance has changed. The only good point he feels Guzma made is that he only witnessed this one incident. At the same time, he feels like one incident is enough for that brat to get a talking to.

loyalty to what i care about or defying my values has no part in it. a team's a team. whether the members even like each other or not is irrelevant. it's about trusting each other. having their back so they'll have yours.

tina was loyal to them for those same reasons despite them mocking her and defying her values and being disloyal to what she cared about
