I was thinking about asking Jaime, so that perhaps he could take some time off from his busy car repair work...but when I suggested him it didn't land with as much of a splash.

No? Well, I can help! I have a measuring tape left over from when Allura and I helped model some clothes back in the fall. It won't take long at all.

Er, well...I mean--it's. It's not hard...you just...stand there or look where they tell you to. It's a little embarrassing, though -- I'd never want to do it as a profession, but...but those folks at the community center were very kind and enthusiastic, so it was hard to say no. And I suppose as far as photographs go, I'd rather those sorts than...[withering:] annoying candids on the internet...

Well, yeah. These are pictures you agreed to doin'. But it's nice, ain't it? Doin' somethin' kinda simple and easy, gettin' that kinda attention. Feels good, huh?

[He wouldn't know exactly, but he's someone who is (up till recently, anyway) pretty much starved of attention and validation in a lot of ways, so even something like that he can imagine it'd feel pretty good. Even if it's over something he otherwise has little interest in—attention is attention.]

[sheepish:] I...I think it's more that they were excited to see their clothes on someone. It's a little silly, getting praised for putting on a sweater or a skirt...but it was something made by their own hands.

It was nice, though. I'm glad I was able to make someone happy doing something so simple and easy, as you said. And I wound up with that lovely [hideous] dress because of it! So I think everyone won.
