[and she didn't even mean for it to happen!!! how nice. she likes that! maybe she'll just put some of this food on her card and get a bit extra...
which just means her vision is obscured for the moment when she does get back to her home, so when she sets the bags down to take her shoes off and--]
GAH! AH! Oh-! [THERE'S A GREMLIN IN THE HOUSE oh it's Guzma.] Oh, gods! You, you startled me! How did you get in...here...[oh.] Oh, the...the back door. Right. [ha. huh. well then.]

[He's chilling on the couch like he owns the place, a bottle of beer in his hand. Her surprise doesn't come as a surprise to him, but at least she didn't drop everything!
Or hit him. He'd probably deserve it, if she did.]
Yeah, pretty useful knowin' 'bout that, huh?
[He pushes himself to his feet, and makes his way over to her, offering a hand to take some of those bags (not that she needs the help, but maybe he can be nice sometimes). His eyebrows raise when he realizes there's definitely more bags than he was expecting...]
What all d'ya get?
no subject
That one-- [the one he's got.] That's your bounty of chocolate. Hopefully all of those wind up being good, I don't know. [she's been here how many years and still doesn't know all the kinds of candy??]
The rest is for my stew experiment! [she moves into the little kitchen to set things down and free up her hands so she can get her coat off, passing his way again and stopping to give his collar a little tug so he'll bend and get a quick peck on the lips.]
Hello, by the way.
no subject
And then he gets a kiss, and that instantly brings a smile to his lips. Using arm that's only occupied with the beer, he wraps it around her waist to keep her close, his eyebrows raising with his own greeting:]
Yo.
[Aaaand he's gonna raise her quick peck a proper kiss.]

Things must be going well for your friends at the factory if you've got the afternoon to spare here with me! I'm glad... Did all of that winterizing you were set on doing get done?
no subject
Yeah we got it all done after that, uh... [His eyes narrows as he pulls out a chocolate bar.] ...thing you and Darin were pullin'. It's still a li'l drafty, but it's an old building. Tupp's Salandit seem to be doin' a pretty good job keepin' the place warm enough, though.
no subject
at least it highlighted the ventilation issues with the boiler room??? right?]
I'm surprised you didn't show up with that little creature in your coat today, actually. [considering how he keeps his house set to jungle temperatures! she has half a mind to just leave summer clothes at that house, but in her current comfortable state of the present, that's a step too forward; future-Lucina will regret her lack of commitment to thinking ahead.
she vanishes to her room for a moment before returning, in the process of tying her hair up in a ponytail as she pads across the living room and back toward the kitchen.]
How did I do? I just picked from the various baskets of clearanced candies they had there and guessed...

[Is all he says about her comment towards him lacking the Salandit. Truth is, he's not, just the little guy isn't presently on Guzma.
In fact, by the time Lucina's making her way towards the kitchen, asking about her candy picking skills, the Salandit makes itself known by accidentally knocking around some pots and pans in her cupboard, some of which clatter against the ground as they fall out. This surprises the little reptile, and there's more thudding to be heard, a little bit of scratching from claws against wood, and scurrying.
Guzma sits bolt upright when he hears the noise, his brain completely tossing Lucina's question out as his attention is instead focused on the little troublemaker in the kitchen.]
Shit—what the hell's he doin'?!
[Putting the bag and bar down, Guzma's to his feet and swiftly heading towards the kitchen.]
no subject
[thank goodness she hadn't been going for the cutlery when the critter made his appearance. rather, she'd reached for one of the bigger pots in a floor-level cupboard and got the spook from there and, unfortunately, lost her grip on it and sent it sailing behind her.
sorry Guzma. maybe duck?]
no subject
Oh. Duck, not...okay.
Yeah, Guzma doesn't do that, so instead he just gets hit right in the face with that pot. Fortunately for him, he activates his carapace, but unfortunately he doesn't do it immediately, so...]
FUCK!!
[With the pot ricocheting off of his face like a tennis ball bouncing off of any hard surface, Guzma's left holding his face with one hand, bracing himself against the kitchen door frame with the other, seeing as he stumbled against it from the hit.
There might be a little blood dripping from the hand holding his face. Maybe...a lot of blood. Guess that's what happens when a pot hits you square in the nose. Good thing his carapace is a thing, or maybe the damage might have been worse!
As for the Salandit? He's scurried off into another cabinet to hide, because he's pretty sure he's in big trouble if all the yelling and noise is anything to go by!]
no subject
Guzma! I--oh, are you alright?!
[she hurries over to inspect. LET HER SEE!!]
no subject
With a scowl, he looks at Lucina, though his anger isn't at her, so much the situation.]
I'll be fine, it's just some blood.
[That's a lot of blood for "just some blood."]
no subject
not a second later, she hurries to grab a nearby dish towel and hand it to him.] Here, hold that firmly-- [so that she can find paper towels to get the mess on the floor.]
It's not broken, is it? Your poor nose...! [she likes that nose!]
no subject
I don't think so, I was able to get my carapace up—but apparently not fuckin' fast enough to keep this from happenin'—fuck!
[He barks that out, his free hand clenching into a fist as he pounds the bottom of it against the frame of the door in frustration.
He can deal with pain, that's not the issue here! He just doesn't like that this is what they're dealing with when they were supposed to be enjoying the afternoon together!!]
no subject
she gently shoos him out of the way so she can wipe down the floor and retrieve the pot, sighing as she sets it on the stove before looking back over at Guzma with a deepening frown.]
You ought to rinse off in the bathroom. I'll make a little wrap of ice, just in case... [carapace or no, it's no excuse to risk his nose swelling up like a balloon.]
no subject
Her wince isn't lost on him, and that helps settle him a little bit. The angry look in his eyes shifts to something a little more rueful, but he nods, adjusting the towel so nothing can leak, before he heads to the bathroom to clean himself off.
With Guzma out of the kitchen, and most of the noise settling down, the culprit of this whole ordeal peeks out from the cupboard he's been hiding in. His squinty purple eyes scanning the room before locking onto Lucina. He doesn't dare to come out more than that peeking, though.]
no subject
[she spies the criminal on her way back from the freezer, carrying an ice tray. she spares him a glance and a click of her tongue before she goes back to putting some cubes on a clean towel and rolling them up together. once the tray's refilled and back in the freezer, though, she comes back and kneels down in front of the cupboard, peeking in.]
You gave me quite a spook, you know. [it's admonishing, but her tone isn't harsh. she holds out a hand.] Here, come on out. And give me a warning next time you're going exploring, yes?

That offered hand gets scrutinized for a moment, before he clambers out of the cupboard (knocking a few things inside around with that tail of his) and bodily lays on her palm, his little arms hugging around her wrist as he stares up at her with those squinty eyes of his.
He nods emphatically to her request.]
Saaah-sah! Salaaand...
[The way he coos his voice almost sounds...flirty?? Like he's trying to butter her up, even though he's clearly not in trouble. Or, maybe he's trying to win her over a little extra, so when Guzma comes back, she'll protect him from the wrath that may yet come.
Speak of the devil, Guzma comes back without his shirt on, bloodied towel around his neck. There's still some blood around his nostrils, but it's not bleeding like before, He's scrubbing at his face (careful of his nose) as he enters the kitchen once more.]
Goddamn, I didn't think it was ever gonn—

—YOU LITTLE ASS! Don't you be all sweet on her when you're the reason this fuckin' HAPPENED in the first place!
[Aaand cue Salandit clinging to her arm even tighter. SAVE HIM FROM THIS JUSTIFIED SCOLDING, LU!! UR HIS ONLY HOPE!]
no subject
E-easy! If you too angry, you're going to wind up teleporting him back to his trainer, aren't you? Then how will he properly apologize and make amends?
no subject
...Fine. I guess you got a point...
[The words sound forced out as he scrubs his hands through his hair with a bit more force than what's truly necessary. Meanwhile, the Pokémon in her arms seems keen to just snuggle up to her, clearly not worried in the slightest bit! Not when he has Lucina fighting this battle for him.]
no subject
now, as for this troublemaker... she lifts her hand a bit to lightly tap his snoot.]
Now, I know you didn't mean to scare me, just as you're not the one who actually flung that pot. But that doesn't mean you're in the clear! So you're going to have to do some work to help me catch up; I'm behind schedule on that stew.
[she moves over to the table, considering the bags of ingredients she bought.]
Maybe you'll get put on carrot-chopping duty...how're those little claws of yours?
no subject
But only because he'd feel awkward and embarrassed by his accidental sweetness.
The tap surprises the little guy, the small peep that escapes him emphasizes that. As she talks, he's keeping his eyes on her, looking a little nervous, but as she continues, he seems to settle a bit more. With the approach to the table, he finally breaks his stare from her, to the table, then to the ingredients.
Releasing her arm, he hops from her to the table, sitting there for a moment as he contemplates her question, and his newly assigned duty...before rising to stand like a little person, with his gremlin fingers spread to showcase his small, yet very sharp claws.]
Sah-sah-sah!!
[At this point, Guzma's glancing over at them, looking less pissed off than he was moments ago. Especially with how he's looking at Lucina! One could argue there's a bit of affection behind his eyes, even!
Look, the man loves Pokémon, and seeing her handle herself like this with the Salandit, well...it does something. In his doki place.]
no subject
[she gets a cutting board out and some bowls, setting all that out before preparing the array of veggies she bought.]
Chop these ones and put them here, [she instructs, going over each one at a time.] and those ones here, and those there... And make sure they're pretty even! So they all cook through the same. I think making this meal taste good will be a good atonement.
[she gives the little Pokemon a firm, resolute nod before setting him loose on the task, stepping away and wiping her hands off with a little sigh. her gaze drifts over and she winds up doing a bit of a double-take when she catches glimpse of Guzma and the look on his face, her own going pink with self-consciousness.]
Is your...oh! [she blinks, remembering the ice she'd rolled up for him. picking it up off the counter, she moves over, holding it out.] Here. So your nose doesn't swell up like a balloon. [her mouth twitches.] Does it still hurt?
no subject
However, when Lucina catches Guzma's gaze and subsequently her face flushes, Guzma's eyebrows raise a little. She's quick to get him that ice, and he turns to face her more fully when she offers it. Taking it, he holds it to his nose with a slight hiss.]
Not as bad as before, still stings a li'l though. But you're right, don't need my nose to get any bigger, huh?
[A little self-deprecating joke never hurt no one!]
But more seriously...y'know, you're real good with Pokémon. It's a shame you ain't from my world.
[Well, that's not the only reason it's a shame, but still.]
