1. Gladion & Lillie 5yrs earlier

“HE’S LEFT ME, ABANDONED ME!” Shouting came from a distraught Lusamine in front of her children. This wasn’t the first time Gladion had heard or seen his mother have a fit over something, but it had been one of the worse ones so far. He stared in horror as he saw an even uglier side of his mother as he held onto Lillie’s hand tightly. Protectively. They had both been victims to their mother’s shouting and fits over not being proper before, about embarrassing her, although he always suspected Lillie had it happen more.

Gladion kept a protective grasp on his sister’s hand as their mother kept up with her yelling and sobbing, as Wicke had come in to check what the yelling had been about, eyes wide and immediately ushering the children out to where Pokemon were looked after. To where it was calmer.

“What’s going on Miss Wicke? Why is Mother acting like this?” Gladion finally pipes up when they’re away from the shouting, still protectively holding his little sister’s hand as if she would disappear if he let go of her.

“There was an accident while your parents were working,” There’s a pause and the woman sighs while pulling the children into a hug, attempting to keep a level voice. “Your father disappeared. We don’t know where he is or what exactly happened, all we know is that he disappeared from what Branch Chief Faba said.”

2. Timeline truth revealed

The feed shows the truth of Gladion's timeline:
Confronting Guzma at Aether and losing the battle. It cuts off right before the battle between Guzma and Mizuki.

Oh, you found me-!

[Lucina lifts her head when she hears Masquerain titter and manages to get one hand free to catch him before he can bodyslam her face outright. she giggles, guiding him around to find his perch on her head that he favors.]

Be careful! Lots of sharp things around. [like...all the swords and daggers and knives she's been laying out on the barren floor on towels and cloths from a massive oak chest.]

I take it that means you've all decided to come out to check this new place out? What do you think?

[And settle on that favored perch he does! Squirming and happy as he delights in the attention. He does eye the sharp things she mentions, all if it very shiny and beautiful, at least in his little opinion. At her questioning, though, he lets out a high-pitched trill of his name, excited and pleased.

Needless to say, this house is much bigger than Guzma's old apartment, and much nicer than the factory. Not that he minded either, but this is a good home. One that has Lucina! The biggest boon of all! They're not alone for long, because in walks Scizor. He pauses a moment, staring at Lucina and Masquerain both with pointed scrutiny...before he walks closer in, stopping a few feet from them as his yellow eyes fall to the blades on the floor.

His face scrunches about as much as a metal bug's face can. Clearly not liking the mess on the floor, but he's only scowling and crossing his arms with silent judgment about it.]

I take that as approval! I'm glad. It's not much yet, but--oh!

[seeing the bugtler is a surprise. Lucina blinks, but offers a smile all the same, nodding (gently, as to not knock Masquerain off.)]

Greetings! Pardon the mess, I'm making sure I didn't damage anything in transit. I finally have enough room to bring all of my cousin's collection out of storage. [she gestures to one of the walls.]

I'm going to hang them up on the walls, and since the window here faces north, that means the light can catch them in lovely ways all throughout the day.

[she pauses, momentarily imagining it before a thought catches her and has her add on quickly:] But, if you see fit to have other uses for this room, you don't have to worry -- I'll keep the floor tidy! You can put what you like in here for yourself.

[she's not...entirely sure what Scizor would want as far as furnishings, but this is the perfect opportunity to learn, isn't it?]

[Scizor stares at her, then looks to the blades once more. Glancing about the room as she explains her idea. It's not that Scizor has furniture of his own or anything, and maybe in time that will change (a luxury Team Skull couldn't exactly afford to have before), but he cannot help his irritation when he sees clutter. Something he's had to learn to deal with when going to the factory, or dealing with Shady House back home.

Her explanation gets a subtle nod as he imagines it, tilting his head curiously as he does so. Then, he gives an affirming Sciiiz. Which then gets Masquerain to pipe up with his own little singsong cry of his name, lifting off of Lucina after a nuzzle to further inspect the blades.]

Yo—where'd ya—oh.

[Guzma wanders into the room, dressed in his muscle shirt and sweat pants; a can of purple spray paint in his hand—only one arm has that bright purple team skull mark on it, while the other looks faded and...chipped? His eyes go to the can, then to Lucina, before he sticks it into the pocket of his pants. The damn things are deep enough for it, and it's almost like the can just disappeared into the depths.

...He does smell freshly of paint, too. That much is unmistakable.]

So...your swords, huh?

[Yeah, cuz that'll distract from what he was doing...]
